M. Jane Barry, of Westwood, formerly of Newton, Needham and New London, NH, died peacefully on November 21st, 2021 surrounded by her loving family. Jane was the beloved wife of the late Henry "Hank" Barry for 65 years and from this blessed union came Jane's greatest pride, the family she and Hank shared: Maureen Celli and her husband Daniel of Simsbury, CT and Cornelius, NC; Edward Barry and his longtime companion Margaret Quan of Cambridge; Jane Walsh and her husband John of Westwood and New London, NH; Susan Aries and her husband Kenneth of Westwood, Kathleen Barry of Walpole, Dorothy Vancura and her husband Craig, of Westwood, and Gayle Barry of Salem. When her grandchildren started to arrive, Jane was clearly overjoyed and relished spending time with the next generation of love. "Nana" was cherished by Danielle Celli Bosley (Kenneth), Lauren Celli, Elizabeth and Evan Walsh, Bryan (Lindsay), Kevin and Kaitlin Aries, Valerie and Jacqueline Vancura and the late Mitchell Trompeter. The newest additions to Jane's legacy, her great grandchildren, Victoria Jane Bosley and Brooks Henry Aries, were a delight to Jane who never felt happier than when bouncing "her babies" on her knee. Jane was preceded in death by her siblings, Robert Devlin (Eleanor) of Framingham, Richard Devlin (Susan) of Sudbury and New London, NH, and Dorothy Anastasi (Thomas) of Medfield and New London NH. The strong ties Jane had with her brothers and sister meant that even after their passing, they were ever present in spirit.

Jane derived great satisfaction raising her family. While this was her focus, she generously gave her ingenuity and creativity to the world outside her home as well. She worked in Sales for Litton Industries and went on to become an Administrative Assistant at Babson College in her 40's, where she embraced the new phenomenon called "computing" and approached it with the positivity and go-get-em attitude she brought to any challenge in her life. Along the way, Jane attended Boston College, Northeastern University, and Babson College for Adult Education. As a devoted member of the Catholic Church, Jane worked with married couples, offering to them her wisdom and experience in making a place for God in their lives. Book clubs, bridge, Bible study, dinner parties with friends, exercise, and walking; all of these added to the beautiful person that was Jane Barry. She will be missed by many and remembered with fondness by all.

As a voracious reader, when her sight grew dim in later years, Jane benefited greatly from the Perkins School for the Blind Book Share and her family would be thankful for donations supporting their mission. https://support.perkins.org/
