Vamenta, Edward Cyprian, 47, of Westwood MA, died peacefully in his home surrounded by family on July 2, 2019. Ed is survived by his wife, best friend and soulmate of 21 years, Elizabeth Traphagen, daughter Adeline, son Jude, parents Cipriano and Elena Vamenta, sisters Michelle Vamenta and Bernadette (Jeff) Pio, brother Justin (Riza) Vamenta, in-laws William and Sheila Traphagen, sisters-in-law Mary (Matt) Traphagen, Kathleen (Khalid) Traphagen, Sheila (Eoin) Traphagen, Ann Traphagen and many loving nieces and nephews and extended family. Edward was a loving husband, father, brother, uncle and friend to all.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend visiting hours in the Holden, Dunn and Lawler Funeral Home, 55 High Rock St., WESTWOOD on Sunday July 7th from 3-7pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday morning July 8th at 10am in St. Margaret Mary Church, 845 High St., Westwood. Interment will be private.

Ed was raised in Garrison, NY and graduated high school from Millbrook School in 1990. He earned his BS from Boston College in 1994 and his MBA from Boston University in 2003. During Ed's first year of college, he met and fell in love with Liz and they were together from that day forward. Ed and Liz served in the Jesuit Volunteer Corp in the Pacific Northwest following college where they made numerous lifelong friends. Following his service, he worked in corporate finance in the healthcare and energy industries for many years, most recently with Atlantic Power Corp., where he served as Director of Financial Planning and Analysis. However, Ed's most important position was that of a loving, devoted father and husband. Adeline and Jude were the light of Ed's life and spending time together was always his top priority. It's an understatement to say Ed loved the outdoors and sharing adventures with his family and friends. He enjoyed hiking, camping, cycling, skiing, snorkeling, traveling, ultimate frisbee, stunt kite flying, and most importantly, playing and coaching soccer. He was a passionate and beloved coach and board member for Westwood Youth Soccer for many years. Ed was also a talented musician, cook and writer. Although Ed's life was cut short by cancer, he was able to convey his talents and passions to his children and his light and love will always be the center of his family. Ed's warm smile, hearty laugh and positive energy will be missed by many. Please omit flowers and gifts. Should friends desire, contributions may be sent to the Vamenta Children's Education and Enrichment Fund for the benefit of Adeline and Jude.
